Internet Works on Other Devices but Not This Computer
Phones, tablets and other computers on the same network all have working internet, but one specific computer shows connected (or even shows a strong Wi-Fi signal) without actual internet access.
Quick answer: When every other device is online but one computer isn't, the fault is almost certainly on that computer — a network adapter driver, IP configuration, or a security setting blocking access — rather than the router or your internet plan.
Likely causes
- A network adapter driver issue specific to that computer
- An incorrect or conflicting IP address assignment
- Security software or a firewall setting blocking internet access on that device specifically
- A corrupted network profile for that specific connection
What you can safely check yourself
- Try "forgetting" the Wi-Fi network on that computer and reconnecting fresh
- Run Windows' built-in network troubleshooter (right-click the Wi-Fi icon > Diagnose network problems)
- Try an Ethernet cable if available, to check whether it's specifically a Wi-Fi issue or affects wired too
When it needs a proper look
If forgetting and reconnecting the network doesn't help, and the built-in troubleshooter doesn't resolve it, that points to a driver or configuration issue worth a proper look.
