Windows Repairs
Help when Windows won't boot, gets stuck on updates, throws blue screens, or a profile stops working. Often fixable remotely, workshop drop-off if it won't start.

If the computer turns on and has power but Windows itself isn't working properly — stuck on a boot loop, blue screens, a corrupted profile, or an update that's gone wrong — that's usually a software problem rather than a hardware one. I can often fix this remotely, working through startup repair options, rolling back a problem update, or rebuilding a damaged user profile without losing your files. If Windows won't start at all and remote access isn't possible, or the fault turns out to need a full reinstallation, that's better handled as a drop-off at my Wynnum workshop. This covers boot failures, blue screens, stuck or failed updates, corrupted profiles, and full Windows reinstalls where needed. If the computer won't turn on or show any display at all, that's a hardware fault rather than a Windows one — that's covered under Computer Repairs instead. Remote sessions are billed at $135 an hour; if it needs a workshop drop-off, I'll quote the job once I've had a look. Either way, I'll always try the least disruptive fix first before recommending a reinstall.
Windows is stuck in a loop trying to start up — can this be fixed without losing my files?
Often, yes. Startup repair and profile fixes usually don't touch your files, though I'll always confirm what's at risk before trying anything more involved.
I keep getting blue screens — is that Windows or hardware?
It can be either, which is part of what diagnosis is for. Software-caused blue screens are usually fixable without a reinstall; hardware-caused ones need the underlying fault fixed first.
Do you need to reinstall Windows to fix boot problems?
Not always — I'll try repair options first. A reinstall is usually a last resort, and I'll talk you through what it means for your files and programs before doing it.
